Singing the praises of music school, founder

I was dismayed to notice in the May 18 edition of the North Star that not one mention was made of a most astounding concert that took place in Parry Sound's Charles W. Stockey Centre for the Performing Arts on Sunday, May 15.

Parry Sound needs to hold up its head and shout the praises of the Parry Sound School of Music, and its founder Maia Vimboule, in particular. On Sunday, Ms Vimboule and her choir performed Haydn's The Creation. The music presented was a challenging piece for the choir, soloists and accompanist. It was done spectacularly, at times moving audience members to tears with its shear majesty and beauty.

People were heard to comment that this production rivaled any heard at Roy Thompson Hall in Toronto and still others said this concert deserved to be part of the Festival of the Sound.

We are so blessed to have such talented and dedicated people in the Parry Sound area. Let's show some appreciation.
