The Parry Sound School of Music performed in concert to almost a full house at the Stockey Centre Sunday afternoon, October 21. Director Maia Vimboule accompanied the choir and soloists, on piano, through the performance of a program which featured a wide range of works by classical composers — Beethoven, Franck, Fauré, Mozart, Chopin, Handel, Caldara, Girodani, Bach, Schubert, Debussy and Gluck. PARRY SOUND - The Parry Sound School of Music, under the direction of Maia Vimboule, presented a star-studded concert, Music of the Spheres, at the Stockey Centre on Sunday, October 21. It was a powerful, emotional mixture of music — voice, piano, and violin. This music was presented against the backdrop of dramatic celestial paintings done by Parry Sound's own Katerina Fretwell. Family concerts during the Festival

The 32nd annual Festival of the Sound will take place at the Charles W. Stockey Centre for the Performing Arts in Parry Sound on Georgian Bay from July 15th to August 7th, 2011.

Throughout the duration of this season’s Festival, there will be two Free Family Concerts offered at the Charles W. Stockey Centre on July 30th at 12:00 pm and August 8th at 12:00 pm. The advertised Family Concert on July 16th at 12:00 pm featuring Strings Across the Sky has regrettably been cancelled due to family illness. However, the two other programmes being offered are guaranteed to entertain the entire family. Read more...
